Increased provision of information to new fund members

Gildi Pension Fund is sending information to new fund members this week about their entitlements and the services the fund offers.

A range of entitlements come with paying into Gildi Pension Fund. Among other things, fund members accrue the right to a retirement pension and enjoy insurance protection should their capacity to work be reduced due to illness or accident. They are also entitled to take out a loan from the fund and can set up private pension savings with it.

Information about all this and more can be found in a letter being sent this week to those who have paid contributions to the fund for the first time this year. Gildi hopes that this will increase both understanding of, and interest in, the fund and the pension system as a whole.

The letter was designed by the advertising agency Brandenburg, with the aim of providing simple and clear information about the fund's services on the front page. More detailed information is then provided on the back page. The letter can be found in both Icelandic and English below.

Such letters will be sent to new fund members in the coming years after they pay contributions to the fund for the first time.
